Abstract
The aim of this paper is to study, by means of experimental measurements and of analytical computations, the mechanical behaviour of a specimen, made of two metallic straight parallelepipedic solids joined by an epoxy-double composed adhesive and undergoing a traction-force.
The adherends and the joint are supposed homogeneous, isotropic linear elastic with different mechanical characteristics (Young’s modulus, Poisson’s ratio). An experimental method with electrical strain-gauges shows a form of stress-concentration, specially in the neighbourhood of the axes of the specimen and at the vicinity of each interface adherend/adhesive. By using matched asymptotic expansions method, the Airy’s fonction of the classical problem is computed as the sum of several stationnary potentials : in this way, we find a good approximation of the stress-concentration, observed by the experimental method.
