Abstract
In order to optimize the processing of very thin and high emittance coatings, growth of the conversion layer as well as dissolution of the substrate are investigated. The limitant factor of dissolution is assumed to be diffusionnal on the basis of the low value of the activation energy of the process and the data reported on the influence of stirring rate. A logarithmic phenomenological law represents the growth of the conversion coating.
