Développement de l’utilisation de l’aluminium dans les câbles à usage aéronautique
Development of aluminium use in aeronautical wires
1 Aérospatiale
2 Aluminium Péchiney
Abstract
The tough competition existing about planes weight led Aerospatiale to look for weight savings in every domain, including electrical wires (representing about 1.5 % of the empty weight of an A TR 42). Aluminium alloys only could bring an appreciable weight saving. The preent paper sums up how was designed a new nickel plated Al-Mg-Fe aeronautical cable, the solutions brought to the problem of connections oxidation and the performance obtained. ATR 42 power routes are made with these new cables.
