La métallurgie des poudres des alliages de titane
Potential of titanium powder metallurgy
Centre d’Etudes Nucléaires de Grenoble
Abstract
This paper briefly reviews the principal results of works carried out in France on evaluation of as-hip’ed and beta solution treated compacts made with PSV (Pulvérisation sous vide - Electron-beam vacuum melted) powder produced by the Centre d'Etudes Nucléaires de Grenoble. Prealloyed titanium PM, PREP or PSV compacts consolidated by hip’ing appear now to offer higher fatigue resistance microstructures by selecting the size of the particles used, an appropriate heat treatment of powders prior hip’ing and an optimized beta STOA treatment.
