Microstructure et propriétés mécaniques à chaud des alliages de titane
A review of the relations between microstructure and mechanical properties of high temperature titanium alloys
Laboratoire de Métallurgie Physique, Université Paris-XI, Orsay
Abstract
In this paper, we recall the different qualities required for the industrial use of the high-temperature titanium alloys which are used for rotating components, especially in the hotter compressor stages (discs and blades). We highlight the different parameters which control the mechanical properties and the microstructure (chemical composition, elaboration processes (forging, casting, powder metallurgy), thermal treatments...). Some recent developments to improve the characteristics of these alloys are mentioned as also some points to clear up.
