Mise en œuvre des alliages de titane par déformation plastique
Mechanical working of titanium alloys
Département Matériaux, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines, Saint-Etienne
Abstract
Some aspects of the works recently carried out in France in the field of the mechanical working of titanium alloys are presented in this paper. The flow rules and the evolutions of microstructure, as well as the possibility of carrying out thermomechanical treatments have been studied mostly in the case of the Ti-6%Al-4%V alloy. Fundamental investigations on commercial purity titanium related to the mechanisms of plastic deformation (slip and twinning) have led to the prediction of the anisotropy and formability of rolled sheet.
