Séchage des formes médicamenteuses avec matrice polymère préparées par voie humide
Drying of oral dosage forms with polymer matrix prepared by humid way
Faculté des Sciences, Université de Saint-Etienne
Abstract
Oral dosage forms with a controlled rate of delivery of the drug are generally prepared by dispersing the drug in a polymer matrix. The humid technique is of interest especially when the drug is not soluble in the liquid. A small amount of liquid is added to the drug-polymer mixture in powder form in order to obtain a highly viscous paste. This paste is thus pressed into the desired shape in a mould at a rather low pressure. The last stage, which is not the least, consists of drying the dosage form. As the following drawbacks must be avoided: modification of the shape, formation of cracks, swelling, the stage of drying is of high concern and necessitates good knowledge of the process. The process of drying a polymer is rather complex, being controlled by diffusion of the liquid or vapour through the polymer and evaporation out of the surface.
