Influence de la structure eutectique dans l’alliage Al-Si sur le mécanisme de déformation
Influence of the eutectic structure in the Al-Si alloy on the mechanism of deformation

Abstract
Investigations have been carried out on the cracking process in the two-phase Al-Si alloys using an X-ray “sin2 ᴪ” method.
The relation has been established between specimen deformation during bending and the deformation of α-phase and Si-phase in a non-modified and modified Al-Si 7 alloys. In the sodium modified alloy nucleation of the cracks in Si crystals was observed at much higher deformation than in the non-modified one. This phenomenon is the effect of the very fine structure with small globular grains in the sodium modified alloy.
