Les principales méthodes de caractérisation d'un adhésif structural sont abordées.
Ces méthodes concernent les propriétés chimiques, physiques, thermiques et mécaniques; leur présentation fait appel aux normes lorsque celles-ci existent.
Les normes AFNOR, ASTM, DIN et ISO sont prises en compte, décrites succinctement et comparées les cas échéants.
