Abstract
Steel remains the material of the future, due, on one hand, to its excellent compromise of mechanical properties with regard to cost ; and, on the other, to its implementation properties in particular those of tooling and surface treatment. Surface treatment of steel permits a large range of functional properties such as fatigue live and wear resistance.
