Abstract
Additive elements (Pb, Fe, Ni, Al, Mg,...) included in galvanizing baths are studied, according to atmospheric corrosion resistance of the zinc coating. Various agressive media are involved with different pH values, chloride and carbonate contents. For chloride and acidic conditions, presence of Al or Mg induces localized corrosions. For neutral or alcaline environments, protective zinc coatings provide good behaviour against corrosion.
