Spectroscopie du milieu créé lors de l’interaction d’un faisceau laser CO2 continu de puissance
Spectroscopic analysis of the plasma induced by the interaction of the CO2-5 kWCW laser beam with metallictarget

Abstract
The physical description of the interaction of a high power continuous laser beam with a metallic target is very difficult, essentially due to the great deal of the elementary processes involved within. A first step for the experimental description is the analysis of the plasma induced during the interaction and shown in figure 1 or 2. This paper deals with the spectroscopic analysis of the plasma obtained during the interaction of a 5 kWCO2-cw laser beam with alow allowed steel 28 CND 8) (see experimental set up in figures 3 and 4). These experiments have permitted to obtain the composition of the laser plume without sheath gas (figure 5) and with Argon as sheath gas (figure 6). The results show the importance of two parameters as gas flow and the nature of the gas sheath and the value of the laser light intensity figure 7). These experiments were the first performed on the laser apparatus and demonstrate the efficiency of the spectroscopic diagnostic to describe the lasermaterial interaction. Detailed results will be discussed in further paper.
