Abstract

High energy thermal spraying makes it possible for designers to aim at much higher performances than those which are set by the limited properties of uncoated traditional materials ; the price to pay for improved performance consists in learning about the properties of materials in the deposited condition and how to do the coating ; the necessary expertise and know how are split between the equipment markers, the spraying practitioners especially the jobbing firms and also the producers of spraying materials.
