  L’expérience de l’évolution passée du choix des matériaux.

  Les perspectives futures : les matériaux pouvant devenir opérationnels d’ici l’an 2000 et leurs perspectives d’emploi sur avions d’affaires et de combat.

Abstract

This paper deals with the airframes of business jets and combat airplanes and will be divided in three sections :

  The reasons for choosing a new material : what can be the drivers to select a new material, and what are the hindrances in introducing such a material.

  The experience of material choices in the past.

• •

  Future prospects : the materials that can become operational before the year 2000, and their potentiel usage on business jets and combat airplanes.
