SMC moulding using progressive rolling process to reduce forming load
Moulage de SMC avec laminage progressif pour réduire l'effort de formage
Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan
SMC Compression Moulding is used extensively today in manufacturing the outer panels and structure parts of transportation vehicles and in pultrusion as continuous moulding process. Taking SMC, the types of approaching the target in future are being taken in an effort to improve decreasing of power required and sustaining of its cycle time so that fabrication by rolling has been developed. Actual moulded results as an example in T-shaped and channel shaped profile indicate good surface quality and especially suitable fibre orientation.
