Abstract
The extension of the use of the stainless steel type Z40C13 imposed the realisation of some experimental tests for the evalutation of the cutting machinability of this steel, on the basis of the criterion of the cutting tools wear. In the paper, there are concisely presented the results of some experimental tests, which at first followed the determination of a correlations between the cutting speed v, the depth of cutting t, the working feed s and the durability T, for specified conditions of cutting. There were effected afterwards evaluation tests of the machinability using a variant of a short time test type Renault-Mathon ; for a such variant, there was achieved and an emphasis of a thermal flux evaluation at the nose. In the all situations, the experimental results were compared with those obtained in the case of a carbon steel XC45, material with a large use in the machines construction.
