Choix de matériaux pour application en milieux extrêmes : aciers inox et alliages en tôles massives ou plaquées*
Materials choice for extreme environment: stainless steels and alloys in plain or plated sheets
Centre de Recherches des Matériaux du Creuset, Creusot-Loire Industrie
Abstract
Due to optimizing of processes and antipollution laws more and more corrosion resistant materials are needed in for example pulp and paper, chemical and hydrometallurgical industries. This paper describes general considerations about stainless steels. The advantages of duplex stainless steels and superaustenitic steels are pointed out.
The optimum choice of stainless steel grade for several high corrosive solutions are discerned. The effects of residual elements, like chloride ions present in the corrosive solution, on corrosion resistance properties of the alloys are studied.
