Les composites multidirectionnels dans les véhicules balistiques et spatiaux
Aérospatiale - Etablissement d’Aquitaine
Abstract
The present paper is dealing with the main uses of multidirectionnal composite materials in aerospace industry, namely re-entry vehicles and nozzles.
For the production of such parts, Aerospatiale has developped automatic processes unique in the world: automatic weaving of nD preforms, and automation of the densification means. These insure low-cost reliability and reproductibility of the manufactured structures. Up to now, the performances obtained are the best when compared to the equivalent found on the market. This industrial power is favourable to the application of such materials to the extra-aeronautical markets.
