Corrosion et dépôts : intérêt de la spectrométrie d’absorption infrarouge
Corrosion and scaling : IR spectroscopy possibilities
Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers, Paris.
Abstract
IR absorption spectroscopy is an important laboratory tool and can be used to check industrial devices, be it to characterize surface pollution or to get important information about scales and corrosion products. With the new possibilities offered by Fourier transform spectrometers, a few nanograms of material may be sufficient for organic or inorganic compounds, crystallized as well as amorphous. This paper gives a few examples of industrial problems solved by means of such a technique.
