Abstract
In Powder Metallurgy the successive improvements in the metallurgical grades and in the means of production progressively make the average weight of the sintered parts per vehicle increase. Recently the perfection of wear-friction resisting grades leads to the development of new applications in the engine distribution : rocker-arms parts, valve seats, valve stem guides... The regular improvement in the powder compressibility and the sintering at liiuh temperature with a slight shrinkage allows to obtain in industrial conditions sintered steels at above 94 % of the density, and with characteristics similar to those of classical prodiu ts. With these last materials, new applications to connecting rods, positive dutch sleeves and rings, varied parts and equipments are developped as pilot lots.
